I enjoyed some hot, tasty home made soup served by our lovely hostess with a delicious cheese scone. Surrounded with great walks on the heath, The Kitchen is well worth a diversion off the A351.

Hidden gem of a dog friendly cafe in an idyllic rural setting with a great selection of drinks and food, especially the cakes - Yum! The creme egg within a chocolate brownie is delicious. The hostess is chatty and charming. Would definitely recommend this cafe.

Took grandson for lunch and to see the horses. 1st time there and enjoyed the tasty homemade food. Also took away a slab of bread pudding and a heft of Dorset apple cake. The brocolli and stilton quiche superb and the pasty probably the best I have eaten. Will certainly return.

The Kitchen is a hidden gem in Arne nature reserve. It’s one minute off the main road between Wareham and Swanage and there’s plenty of parking. It is a great destination for cyclists and walkers. Jill makes incredible cakes, quiches and pasties and also offers a selection of breakfast and lunch items. She is experimenting with recipes all the time so there’s always a new cake to try. You and your dog will get a warm welcome and the view out the window is of horses and countryside, which adds to the calm and comfortable vibe of the place. This is now my go to Purbeck cafe.

Arianne on service and Jill making the cakes backing her up were a great team a couple weeks ago when I and several hundred recovering addicts swarmed hartland camp for some unity and recovery. We had the café very busy and are impatient people used to instant gratification; I was really impressed with how well Arianne and Jill dealt with the volume of custom whilst maintaining a really high level of service. Jill's cakes were very tasty, my friends and I all recommend the rolo cheesecake there were good healthy options in the salads and wraps as well and all were priced reasonably. Thanks for a lovely time -luke

A really lovely tea room in beautiful, peaceful surroundings. We had a really good lunch, followed by cake. The staff were friendly, the food really good and the setting beautiful. Well worth a visit.

Stopped here for breakfast while at a local festival. Brilliant service, super friendly helpful staff. It was my son's birthday. After our breakfast baguettes I bought some cakes, we didn't have any candles, however the lovely young lady working there drew a smiley face on a coffee stirrer, which we stuck in the cake. I must say it was my son's 26th birthday, he appreciated the effort though. The kitchen is well worth a visit if you are in the area.
